Project Overview

An experience ported from mozilla hubs to Aframe which works both on the web and on an oculus quest. It uses blink teleport controls within the VR mode outside of VR mode it relies on custom Javascript to jump from location to location

Technologies Used

It is an artistic experience to showcase the potential of VR on the web (by Immersionn) my work was to Port it over. The goal of the original project was to allow you to visit an archaeological site that would be dangerous in real life and difficult to access. The site uses a 3d photogrammetry scan which started as a point cloud and converted to a high then a low density mesh so the model is optimised for a smooth experience (Metaxu.studio 2022). The model featured the Bamiyan niches carved into a cliff where Buddha used to be but unfortunately was destroyed by the Taliban in 2001 (UNESCO World Heritage Centre. 2024) . Its remains are a powerful reminder of it’s former presence.
